An onslaught of wreckage closed out the 2012 Tournament of Destruction; one of the most memorable in the 13-year history of Team Demo at Route 66 Raceway. Mean Green Machine's #13 Ryan Decker took every open shot possible on Damage, Inc. during their first round match-up in the quest for the National Championship. #87 Pete Ryan had just delievered a solid hit to stop #19 John Clemmons, but wound up pointed nose-first at the wall. Decker saw the opportunity and gored through Ryan's trunk, folding the front end into the concrete! The big hit alone wasn't enough to take the win. Damage, Inc. became a thorn in another team's side and ended Mean Green's title chances. Reckoning was the beneficiary of Mean Green's misfortunes clinching their second Championship in a row. Before any celebration, they had to battle Orange Crush one last time. #7 Brian Anderson switched from running to wreckin' and aimed to take out OC's leader #69 Carl Brouwer. Anderson sliced through Brouwer's passenger side nearly connecting with Brouwer himself! Massive damage to the #69 car, but somehow it kept going and withsood more impacts later in the race. Anderson's car also kept moving, but not for long. #63 Tom Lewis sought revenge for the hit on Brouwer and lined up Anderson from across the track. Anderson saw him coming and the head-on collision was inevitable. A monstrous smash that shot sparks and parts into the air and left both cars completely mangled. Neither vehicle would play a factor the rest of the race, but the damage was successfully done by Lewis. Brouwer survived 5 laps and started Orange Crush's path to the eventual Round 5 win. Team Demolition Derby continues to crush the competition with a triple-shot of smashing from Round 3 of the 2012 Tournament of Destruction.
All 4 opening round races were fast-paced, dramatic and hard hitting contests. Mean Green Machine and Orange Crush seemingly didn't want the fun to end. They broke the record for the longest race in documented Team Demo history clocking in at 14-minutes, 20-seconds, extending the top mark by almost 30-seconds. As the race wore on and the carnage stacked up, #16 Zac Van Allen turned from crusher to runner trying to give Mean Green the comeback win. #63 Tom Lewis locked in and hammered Van Allen with a huge head-on shot that propelled both cars almost completely off the ground! The gravity-defying destruction folded the front of both cars, exploded the radiator in Lewis' car, and wrecked Van Allen's steering leaving him unable to complete the laps. Full Throttle debuted in shocking fashion in May 2011 by defeating Orange Crush, the reigning Champions at that time. The two teams had not crossed paths since. #68 Johnny Ryan wasn't in the line-up for that loss, but delivered payback for his teammates and extracted 14-months of angst & revenge impaling the passenger side of #45 Jay Van Allen. After he was spun out on the starting line, Van Allen made it a grand total of about 50-feet before Ryan buried him into the wall. The complete Round 3 highlight video is yet to come plus all the extensive photo galleries. |

Team Demolition Derby's heaviest hitters delivered the pain during Round 2 of the Tournament of Destruction on June 23rd. The defending Champions Reckoning are prominent in this month's video, but on the wrong end of the impacts! In the Semi-Finals, they etched another chapter in the battles with Orange Crush in an early Race of the Year contender. 2011 Orange Crush driver Johnny Ryan returned the seat and led the charge against Reckoning's runners. #75 Wally Hartung was in the open down the back stretch when Ryan locked-in and smashed Hartung square into the wall! That's what over 4 decades of Team Demo experience looks like when it collides with concrete. Later in the race, Hartung also escaped a massive fireball that engulfed his car! Wally's race was over, but son Nick pushed Reckoning through to the Finals. Before battling Orange Crush, Reckoning challenged their other heated rival Full Throttle. On the opening Lap, #71 Nick Hartung raced out of Turn 2 chasing the leader #45 Jay Van Allen. #46 Levi Turnbaugh was indeed full throttle across mid-track and impaled Hartung with a huge head-on shot! The massive mauling completely destroyed Hartung's car while Turnbaugh's appeared to survive. Full Throttle was poised for the win until Van Allen's car refused to turn to the right. Reckoning slithered past Full Throttle after a 10-minute marathon, the second-longest race of the year so far. |

Reckoning began defense of their 2011 National Championship up against the strongest assembled field of teams in recent memory including the returning 2008 - 2009 Champions the Junkyard Dogs! Back-and-forth battles throughout the bracket delivered big hits and intense racing including possibly the most lead changes ever seen in one night! The see-saw slugfest kicked off the 2012 Tournament of Destruction by honoring the United States Armed Forces with "Military Appreciation Night" on Memorial Day weekend. This is just a sample of what you'll find on the complete Round 1 DVD! 90-minutes of footage that puts you right in the middle of the madness. All races are shown in their entirety from 2-camera angles including the Spectator Series Figure-8 Car & Truck divisions. Plus, every Team Demo DVD has bonus content featuring driver interviews, on-board camera, behind the scenes info and more! |
![]() Mean Green Machine and Full Throttle collided in the Finals of the opening night of the 2012 Tournament of Destruction and they share top honor for Round 1 Hits of the Month! In the first race of the night, Mean Green squared off against Stranglehold and again Pierce was in the lead. Stranglehold was kept at bay most of the race, but had one last shot to stop the leader as he approached the Finish. #53 Michael Noble was ready to strike until being cut off and clobbered by #13 Ryan Decker in a twisted head-on smash! The sold out Route 66 Raceway crowd roared with approval of the annihilation. |
