2010 Tournament of Destruction: Round 4 "Hit of the Month" Video!

A generation clash and family feud were all rolled into the Quick Silver vs. Stranglehold opening round face off and it was Team #4 that instantly got a 'rude awakening' during their re-debut. #50 Bill McMahan and #45 Wally Hartungy tee'd off on each other in a wicked head-on crash during the first moments of the race. Hartung had the race leader in his sights down the back stretch and McMahan delivered the target right into Hartung's front end. McMahan gave up the lead and went for the knock-out shot against the multi-time Champion and team demo legend; and it worked. Both cars were totaled! Quick Silver took a 1-lap lead, but were out-maneuvered late in the race and snuffed out by Stranglehold. Watch the Hit of the Month right now on the Videos page!

A new team with a retro-look enters the Tournament; Quick Silver's debut photo gallery

Team Demolition Derby Quick Silver

Quicksilver Destruction Company was a fixture at Sante Fe Speedway and the early years of Team Demolition Derby at Route 66 Raceway. "Speedy" Steve Volbrecht was a cornerstone of the Route 66 team years and has helped resurrect the team under the shortened and simple "Quick Silver" name for the remainder of 2010. Quick Silver takes over for the exiting Team 4 "Smash Bash & Crash" and was immediately thrown into battle against the surging Stranglehold. Quick Silver's did not take the checkered flag, but left their impact all over the track and undoubtedly will look to inflict more carnage on September 18th! Check out the debut gallery for Quick Silver and the full driver lineup on the Teams page.

2010 "Tournament of Destruction" Round 4 Highlights!

Team Demolition Derby Round 4

Orange Crush clinched at least a tie for the 2010 Team Demolition Derby "Tournament of Destruction" National Championship with their victories over Bad Company, Damage Inc., and their nemesis Reckoning. Just one of the many talking points after an insane Round 4 spectacular that saw not one, but two cars get up-ended on the concrete wall, incredible high-speed runs and easily the most destruction we've seen piled up in one night in quite some time! The hardcore punishment took its toll on the cars and on some of our driver's bodies as well. Broken ribs, gashed arms, and more than a few stiff backs will be felt in the morning after hit-after-hit-AFTER HIT of bone jarring demolition racing. Check out the photo highlights below and look for some video early this week! Don't forget, photos from the previous events this are still be uploaded to all the Teams pages! Hundreds of photos you don't want to miss!

#2X Charlie "Sarge" Turnbaugh: Round 3 MVP

Team Demolition Derby MVP

There is no denying the Seek-N-Destroy vs. Reckoning race from the first round on July 24th is one that will go down in Team Demo lore. 14-minutes of mayhem and one man on a mission. Charlie "Sarge" Turnbaugh and his #2X Lincoln Towncar withstood a hellacious beating and roared back to nearly take out Reckoning by himself, only losing out because the engine quit; he didn't. Team Demo fans and drivers made their voices heard on our Facebook page demanding Sarge be awarded the Round 3 MVP and that's exactly what happened! Sarge received his MVP plaque today at the Seek-N-Destroy shop and video of the presentation is available now on the Videos page. Previously, the MVP interviews have only been shown on the event DVDs, but we're all for fan interaction and we're delivering this video for free to show our thanks to all of those who shared their opinions and to encourage more in the future!
UPDATE: View the aftermath photos of the #2X car in Seek-N-Destroy's 2010 Photo Gallery! Both Round 2 and Round 3 photos are posted!

Complete Thrill Racer's May 29th Photo Gallery posted!

Team Demolition Derby Figure 8 Race

The 2010 Team Demolition Derby "Thrill Racer's Series" has seen some great battles in all three divisions of racing; Trucks, Figure-8 Cars, and Spectator Class. These drivers may only field 1 car per night instead of 3 like our demo teams, however their level of dedication and intensity is equally high. In the past few years, we haven't given due coverage to our feeder divisions of racing and its time to change that! TeamDemo.com will now feature complete photo galleries, accessible from the Teams page, for all the classes's of racing to compliment the written summaries in the event recaps. Our Thrill Racer's divisions are stocked full of Team Demolition Derby veterans, rookie drivers and weekend warriors all looking for a piece of the $1,500 per-race payout and of course the thrill of victory and causing a little chaos in front of a big crowd at Route 66 Raceway. #68 Doug McCarty is undefeated in the Figure-8 and Spectator Class this year, having fought off the challenges of #75 Phil Duffin, #40oz Ed Mayr, and #03 Bob Bleuer among many others. #8888 Brandon Scarbro will be defending his Truck Race victory in 2 weeks on August 21st and McCarty will be seeking his 4th win in a row! Don't just stand back and watch, join in on the action! Read up on the rules for the Thrill Racer's Series on our Schedule page and get your vehicle on the track this season!

2010 "Tournament of Destruction" Round 3 Hit of the Month!

Team Demolition Derby Video

One of the longest Team Demolition Derby races in history was a battle of power, speed and endurance barely won by Reckoning over Seek-N-Destroy in the second heat of the July 24th "Tournament of Destruction:" Round 3. #78 Chris McGuire and #29 Jason Ritacco tried to annihilate each other the entire race, which left both their cars in a twisted mess. Their first head-on crash was capture with FOUR cameras; two sideline cameras and two on-board cameras! Watch all 4 angles in Round 3's Hit of the Month Video!

Orange Crush ends their Final round drought, captures Round 3 win!

We could almost see it coming. 2010 has followed a very similar pattern that 2009 did and it played out true to form as Orange Crush defeated Reckoning in the Finals to take the Round 3 event win and sole possession of first place in the points standings. All three heat wins were some of the quickest times ever recorded for a 5-lap victory. #06 Ryan Bleuer was off to the races from the start as Crush defeated Smash, Bash & Crash, then disposed of Stranglehold in a solid race, then headed to a re-match of the controversial Final round from July 3rd with Reckoning. No disputing the outcome this time, as Crush blocked and pinned Reckoning against the walls early and Bleuer ran away for the 5 laps. The mechanical woes did not bite Orange Crush this time, but did cause Reckoning some troubles early in the race that definitely limited their performance.

Mean Green Machine and Stranglehold both picked up their first wins of the year with victories over Damage, Inc. and Bad Company, respectively. The first round "flip-flop" with the 70s-era heavy iron was a thrill for everyone to watch and gave a true display of what the beasts are capable of. The Reckoning vs. Seek-N-Destroy race in Round 1 easily can be considered "Race of the Night" and will definitely be considered for Race of the Year. Incredible fight to the finish.
